Poetry is a wonderful way to express ourselves. I love writing poems to share with children. I also enjoy inspiring children to write their own poems. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started.

Found Poems

Use words and phrases cut out of old magazines to inspire you to create a ‘found poem.

Wearable Poems

Poems don’t have to be written on paper. Use fabric pens on an old t-shirt to create your own wearable poem. You can add drawings too if you want to.

Feelings Poems

Poems about our feelings can be a powerful way of expressing ourselves. Here are two poems I’ve written about feelings I remember having when I was a child. Can you guess what the feelings are?
